Search Tips
Basic Word Search
Enter one or more words in the Search Box and click on Search.
The search looks for descriptions of resources that contain all
the words that you are looking for. Words are searched for in the title
and description fields of the resource, as well as in the MeSH and ANRF
keywords that are used to index each resource (and which are not
publicly visible).
For example, if you type in: smoking
statistics, you will find records that contain the terms: statistics
AND smoking.
Phrase Search
If you are looking for a specific phrase, use double quotemarks, e.g. "smoking cessation"
Boolean Search
You may separate two or more terms by using the following Boolean logical operators; AND, OR and NOT.
-
OR
The OR operator instructs the search engine to find records containing any of
the search terms, this is especially useful if you are searching for synonyms or words with similar meanings, e.g. advertising OR marketing
- NOT
The NOT operator allows you to exclude a specific term, e.g. cancer NOT lung
